    1. Action, drama, suspense and some second chance romance is what you find in Forced Disappearance. Funny banter and smart moves perfectly describe the couple brought to life by Dana Marton. Where to begin? The hereon, Miranda Soto, is captivating and intriguing from the very beginning. There is a sense of mystery about her, an underlying certain something that attracted to me to her character right away. She is fresh from the Army and it‘s pretty obvious that being a civilian isn’t something s [...]

    2. I thoroughly enjoyed this from beginning to end. There were plenty of twist and turns and surprises throughout the story that mainly takes place in the Venezuelan jungle. The two main characters started out as brainiacs at MIT. Even their first foray into sex was done more as a scientific experimentation. They were best friends and lovers until she left him for the military. Ten years later finds Miranda Soto a shell of the person she used to be from many losses in her life but yet also a tough, [...]

    3. At first I gave this book four stars. But after some thought I realized that there were a bit too many things about it that didn't work for a 4 stars book. But I'm gonna start with how I generally feel about the book and the things I liked. This book had an interesting premise and seemed different from the usual romance novels because it had more serious issues and I thought that there wouldn't be any overused plot points that are introduced to create "obstacles" in the happily ever after. It did [...]

    4. Miranda starts a new job, looking for people who have vanished, disappeared. The one person she didn't bank on looking for was Glenn. The thing is, kidnapped outside the law, means they are impossible to find.I loved the romance in this book, I also loved the thriller aspect.I got a bit muddled sometimes, but that might be me trying to read it over Christmas with a lot going on? Or did it jump sometimes? That said, I really loved the book and although this is the very first book I have read by th [...]

    5. 3.25 stars. The story was interesting, the heroine who tried to save the hero from his kidnapper and so many I wanted to know from these two because of their previous background together. But 200 something for this type of story?Yeah, everything feel forced too!:(

    6. Forced Disappearance by Dana Marton is a 2014 Montlake publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love Dana Maton's Broslin Creek series and was super excited to read this new stand alone novel. It does not disappoint!! When Miranda Soto starts her new job looking for Americans who have disappeared in other countries, the last person she expected to be looking for is Glenn Danning. She and Glenn, a successful engineer and fr [...]

    7. Miranda Soto may no longer have a career in the military, but her new job is not much easier. She’s now a member of the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit and her first assignment is to find a missing American businessman, Glenn Danning, in Venezuela. However, this is no ordinary case. The missing businessman happens to be a former lover which makes this case very personal. Although it’s been a long time since Miranda saw Glenn, she still has feelings for him and is not about to let anything b [...]

    8. Entertaining all the way through I wasn’t crazy about the torture Glenn went through but I liked when he finally managed to escape, with Winky the monkey as company, only to be recaptured again, along with Miranda this time. I was really hoping they would escape again before anymore torture took place. You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out if that happened. But I do wish someone would have killed Roberto and the Commander. Especially the latter. OMG! He was soooo cruel and evil.I [...]

    9. I had read a couple of this author's previous books, so I felt confident I would enjoy this one. This novel was a bit of the reverse on the typical romantic suspense formula. Miranda was sent to rescue Glenn and remained his protector throughout the story. Glenn was by no means a weakling, but he had Miranda's back and yielded to her tactical knowledge and Army experience. The couple's previous experience together made their attraction to each other that much easier even though Miranda resisted [...]

    10. I think Dana might have outdone herself with this book. I’ve read and loved all of her Broslin Creek books but the spine tingling suspense and sexy, hot, somewhat-reluctant romance between Miranda and Glenn have set a new standard for me in Romantic Suspense. This book kept me on the edge of my seat nearly the entire time I was reading it! Just when I thought things were going well something else came up. There were many twists and turns but not so many that it was confusing. If you are a fan of [...]

    11. I found the action scenes too unbelievable. Glenn's torture and wounds are such that it would be impossible for him to escape his cell, over power a guard, run up and down stairs with bloody feet, jump into a jeep and escape. The action and suspense in these romantic action/adventure must be done realistically for me to be invested in the plot and the characters and I didn't get that in this book. I bought the ebook and Audible based on the numerous positive ratings and gushing but I'll stick to [...]

    12. Wow! What a whirlwind of a story! Miranda is tough as nails. Having left the US military, she's got a new job finding US citizens that have disappeared in foreign countries. She can hardly believe it when her first assignment is to locate a man she knew many years ago. But far from being just any man, this man was her first love. The unobtainable one, the one that got away. Geeky Glen is not who he used to be. A successful CEO, he's shed his geeky image, on the outside at least. Will Miranda [...]

    13. I want to read this. Okay, my first review stated that I wanted to read this book. Well this is my edited review. I did read this book and now I want to read a follow-up to see how Mai, Miranda, Glenn and Winky are doing. I was with Glenn when he was missing and tortured, when Miranda found him-her first love and on every good and horrible adventure they were on. When the story ended, I almost felt bereft. Like I was missing parts of my friends or family. And Winky stole my heart. He's a monkey. [...]

    14. This is the first book I've read by this author and what a great surprise it was for me. Miranda and Glen knew one another at college. Things didn't end well and both moved although they never forgot one another. Since the last time they saw each other they've both grown up. Both have gone through a lot. I loved how the heroine was so strong in this book. This is a fantastic book. It's a gripping thriller with twists and turns that had me sitting up late into the night to finish it. I highly rec [...]

    15. This is one of Dana Marton's best books yet. I've read many of her novels and have always enjoyed them. This one tackles more difficult topics while simultaneously drawing the reader into a tightly woven romantic suspense that flips the normal formula and that keeps you engrossed until the very last page. This is a must read for romantic suspense fans. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to Netgalley for providing a complementary ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    16. Read/review for Dana Marton street team for honest opinionThis 1st in a new series by Dana Marton is a romantic suspense. It grabbed me from the first place and I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and the storyline. And it even had a monkey in the storyline which I enjoyed. I'm looking forward to reading more in this new series and more books by this author.

    18. Forced Disappearance - Written by Dana Marton - Reviewed 2/8/18 Terrifying Jungle chase to reach a safe zone! When wealthy American businessman Glenn Danning goes missing in Venezuela, investigator Miranda Soto volunteers to track him down. It’s her first assignment for the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit, but this mission is about more than salvaging the remnants of her shattered military career. Glenn was Miranda’s best friend and first lover, and she’ll do anything to save him from dang [...]

    19. This is the first book I've read by this author and it will most likely be the last. The first third of the book was good, but it went downhill from there. I picked this for its mystery element and not the almost porn element (p.s. Mrs. Martin there is a difference between romance and just sex and this was just sex that added nothing to the story), I skipped several pages just to get back to the story. Unfortunately the ending was corny and so was the monkey. Cut the monkey and the sex, work on [...]

    20. Fast paced romantic suspense, with many of my favorite tropes. Ex-military rescue (more awesome that the military is the heroine), second chance romance, lots of resourcefulness, running through the jungle, all kinds of good stuff. Not overly complex but still an engaging story. A little dark at times with a few disturbing parts (torture, PTSD flashbacks). Strong lead characters made it all work. 3.5-4 stars.

    21. Exciting, tease storyGreat story with lots of action, suspense and tense moments. The romance melds nicely with the action/suspense story rather then detracting from it. The gradual reveals of Miranda's baggage is heartbreaking. The finale with the villain is cathartic though more detail on the fallout would have enhanced the story. It's skimmed over in a fairly unrealistic way given the players. The HEA scenes are emotional and wonderful. Another winner from Marton.

    22. I listed to the audio version of this book. Loved the performance and the story. The story was suspenseful, emotional and romantic. Seeing how Glenn responds to Miranda and all she has gone throughe care and kindness he shared was uplifting. Miranda was so fierce and protective of Glenn Great read.

    23. This is the third novel I've read in this series and while there is plenty of action, it also has the strongest romance theme. However, it's not your typical straight line/boy-meets-girl romance, it rekindles old college flames. Like the others in this series, it's rich with exotic regional detail and touches on serious issues. I just wonder if Winky will ever get his own book.

    24. I enjoyed this quick read. The story flowed smoothly and it ended the way I wanted it to! This is a good adventure story geared to young women. It had good plot twists that were interesting to follow. I enjoyed this quick read. The story flowed smoothly and ended well. This is a good adventure story geared to young women with plot twists that were interesting to follow.

    25. From the boardroom to the junglesAnother good read with suspense, intrigue and past love rekindled.A man who has it all is kidnapped and beaten as a spy, his only friend is a captive monkey he names Winky. She has lost everything, her Army career, husband and child.Follow their adventure of rediscovery

    26. I thought this was a well written book with plenty of excitement. The only thing I didn't like, maybe it's just me, was all the gratuitous sex. I'm not a prude or anything, but I don't think it added anything to the story. I just skipped those parts. Otherwise it was a great, fast paced read.

    27. Forced Disappearance!Loved it! Been a while since I read a good suspense/romance book and I knew Dana Marton could write a good one. Wasn't disappointed and looking forward to the next one. JudyE

    28. The action starts from the first page and doesn't stop. Miranda is sent to rescue Glenn who seems to have disappeared without a trace. When she finds him, they have to avoid being captured by the police who think Glenn is a spy.

    29. DestinyPlunged into the jungles of Venezuela, Miranda tries desperately to find a man who had disappeared from the United States. There is danger and corruption at every turn. Heart-racing book.

    30. Fast Paced and ExcitingDana Martin wove a wonderful tale of love, betrayal, intrigue and danger. Great character depth and a believable adventure. I'm ready for her next novel!
